How would they know to do that? They're literally disembodied, and have no cognitive function other than what they received in the couple of hours since their birth. Okay, but why do they have virtual bodies? These souls were copied from newborns, who were in newborn bodies, it's just accepted that the soul would know how to develop into a fully sexual human virtual body over time. How is a copied digital soul going to rape another copied digital soul? How exactly is an ai going to rape another ai? Or we can go with the nomenclature of copied soul. And now he has inserted rape and sexual desire suddenly. He spent pages and pages on how the copying of the fluctlights worked out, and then brushes aside reproduction with a throw away sentence. But the author isn't satisfied with that, he's got to have some new technology every couple of books, and then he works himself into a corner. I like the setting of full-dive technology, that's enough of pushing the envelope as far as I'm concerned. The main character is a Mary-Sue, much as it pains me to admit that I like him that way. These books have always been best described using the word elementary.
